The Planning Dept. received plans to demolish the existing building at 2031 K Street and construct a new development with 296 mixed unit with 8 floors and 91 feet tall. Demolition requires historic evaluation as well as a deviation for height. The proposal includes 233 studio units, 50 1-bedroom, and 13 2-bedrooms. The California Tower & Aggie Square Plan
UC Davis Health Sacramento campus is undergoing a massive expansion over the next decade |
The proposed California Tower will include a 16-story,
332-bed hospital facility and 5-story pavilion. The $3.75 billion project is
scheduled to have patients moving in by 2030 and is currently in the design
development phase and will replace the north-south wing originally built in
1929 and the addition from the 1950’s and will be demolished in the coming
years. These were images out of Comstock’s Magazine promotional supplement for
March 2022. UC Davis Health is also investing 1.1 billion in the nearby AggieSquare where both research facilities and housing will improve the neighborhood.
