On these brisk winter mornings, the clarity when looking across
the Sacramento valley can be perfect. One hundred miles away, the Sierra Mountains
look to be an Alpine wonderland behind the Sacramento skyline. Both these
photos were taken from the west looking east, one on county road 102 near
