Hyatt Centric Hotel

With the tower crane now at the job site and the inside of the former Marshall hotel gutted, I can’t really tell what else has happen since I was here taking pictures in April. For a Friday it was really quite at the job site, they are probably doing foundation work.

Marshall/Hyatt Centric Hotel Brick & Terra Cotta

Marshall/Hyatt historic brick & terra cotta facades
Today the rectangular-shaped historic brick and terra cotta facades are left as the interior of the original structure has been removed. This is a unique project to preserve the historic exterior, keep an eye on how this all comes together.

Steel beams have been placed to help hold walls of the building while the building gets a makeover.  The $68 million projects with $4 million in city subsidies will preserve the red-brick Marshall Hotel shell but have 172-room hotel rise up 11-stories behind the preserved landmark on the city’s register of historic and cultural resources. The Hyatt Centric hotel is set to open in the summer of 2020.

Hyatt Centric Sacramento

Marshall Hotel getting make over into Hyatt 1209 L Street, Sacramento‎

One of downtowns most rundown hotels is FINALLY getting a major upgrade. Work began in October on the 11-story Hyatt Centric Hotel at the corner of 7th and L Street. The shell of the 117 year old Marshall Hotel will remain but behind it a new 172-room hotel will rise. This $68 million project is slated to be finished in two years. Watch for the adjutant Jade apartments to be torn down soon.

Marshall Hotel Renovation

Proposed Marshall Hotel renovation

In a move to transform and upgrade the Marshall Hotel on L Street, renderings have been released showing a piss poor attempt to make it attractive combining both the old and new. The developer Presidio Cos. said it hopes to start construction sometime next fall of the 130 hotel rooms, topped by 10 to 15 apartments or condominiums.

Exceptional Opportunity

1118 - 1128 7th Street, Sacramento, Ca 95814

Ladies and Gentlemen, do I hear $3.5 million dollars, now $3.5 million, now $3.5, will you give me $3.6 million? Don’t worry about how much you’re spending, the cashier is keeping track for you. This site at 1118 - 1128 7th Street adjacent to the arena projects is up for sale for a yet to be announced price. My inquires with the listing agency have not been returned so I'm guessing here. In 2005, 1128 7th Street sold for $3 million, so selling both 1118 and 1128 together next to the new arena should fetch a nice figure.

How could any investor not jump on this opportunity?

Going once, going twice, sold?
